Journalism School opens in Moscow

Moscow will organize training of young journalists of Russia and the South Caucasus Region on May 19-21. Graduates of the Young Journalists’ School hosted by Sochi in November 2013 were invited to join the meeting this year. The Journalism School was organized by the North-South Center for Political Analysis.

Vestnik Kavkaza, Russia Today and the MSU History Faculty will hold professional training, theme lectures and round-table conferences.

Attendees will discuss topical problems of modern geopolitical processes in the Caucasus Region, problems and prospects of harmonizing inter-ethnic relations in Russia and Trans-Caucasus states, improvement of journalism skills of young people from Russia and the CIS.

Well-known specialists of media, Russian political analysts and scientists were invited. The talks will be attended by Fedor Lukyanov, editor-in-chief of Russia in Global Affairs, Ismail Agakishiyev, director general of Vestnik Kavkaza, Alexey Pilko, director of the Eurasian Communication Center, Veronica Krasheninnikova, director of the Institute for Foreign Political Research and Initiatives, Giya Saralidze, a host at Vesti FM, and others.

State funds provided by a grant, according to the Russian president’s order N115-rp (March 29, 2013) and a contest organized by the Russian Union of Youth All-Russian Public Organization, are used to realize the project.
