“Donetsk People’s Republic” starts nationalization of property

Denis Pushilin, the head of the presidium of the Supreme Council of the self-proclaimed “Donetsk People’s Republic,” declared nationalization in the region in response to the refusal by local oligarchs to pay taxes, RIA Novosti reports.

The “republic” has already taken the railway under control of its self-proclaimed authorities.

Rinat Akhmetov, owner of System Capital Management, urged his workers yesterday to start a strike against the separatists. The authorities of Metinvest mines in Mariupol confirmed that local staff will stop work at noon for three hours every day.
