Putin puts responsibility for Caspian Region on Russia and Iran

Russian President Vladimir Putin said at a meeting with his Iranian counterpart Hassan Rouhani at the CICA summit that Russia and Iran will continue cooperation despite the complications around Iran.

Putin called the two states reliable old partners. He emphasized that they had great responsibility for the situation in the Caspian Region. Rouhani noted that some things had changed since his last meeting with Putin in Bishkek. He expressed hope that Russian-Iranian efforts had reduced threats of armed conflicts in the region in the past months.
