It’s time for a domestically-made car, says Erdogan

Turkish Prime Minister Recep Erdogan ordered production of domestically-made cars to be sped up, local mass media report. According to him, some doubt that the country needs to produce its own cars. But Erdogan thinks it is time for a domestically-made car.
Erdogan stresses that Turkey should not only use modern high technologies, but also produce them. At the moment Turkey takes 6th place in Europe for car production.
Most of them are foreign brands: Ford, FIAT, Renault, Toyota, Honda, Opel, Hyundai, Mercedes-Benz, and MAN. Only three vehicle brands are domestic. These are Turkish buses - BMC, Temsa, and Ottokar.
