Russian school leavers mark Day of Farewell Bell

The Ministry of Education of Russia states that about 750 thousand school leavers are marking the Day of the Farewell Bell today in Russian regions. Traditionally, first-graders and teachers congratulate them.The Farewell Bell was first initiated by Georgy Aseyev, the principal of a Moscow school, in 1948. Soon the tradition spread to all other Russian schools.The United State Exams begin a few days after the Farewell Bell, ITAR-TASS reports. Geography and Literature exams will take place on May 26th. Russian language – May 29th. Foreign languages – June 2nd. Mathematics – June 5th. Informatics, Biology, History – June 9th. Social studies and Chemistry – June 11th.
