Ukrainian forces occupied the Donetsk Airport yesterday and it remains under control of the National Guards. The rebels occupied the state administration, regional office of the Security Service, district directorate of the Security Service in the Kuybyshevsky District and some other buildings, ITAR-TASS reports.

Ukrainian Interior Minister Arsen Avakov said that the rebels had suffered major casualties, while the state forces remained unscathed. He did not give exact figures and said that dozens had been killed.

Vladislav Seleznev, an official of Ukrainian law enforcers, said that the government identified all buildings occupied by the rebels. The buildings will be bombarded, unless the rebels surrender.

Valery Bolotov, leader of the “Luhansk People’s Republic,” said that the situation was peaceful and the “republic” had time to send reinforcements to Donetsk and Sloviansk.
