Russia claims Syrian militants fight in Ukraine

The General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces says that about 300 Syrian militants fighting against President Bashar al-Assad’s regime were involved in an operation against rebels in the south-eastern part of Ukraine in March-April, ITAR-TASS reports.

The General Staff added that most of them were natives from the western parts of Ukraine who had already taken part in operations in the North Caucasus.
