Special foundation to control fish populations in Azerbaijan

The Agrarian Committee of the Azerbaijani parliament has proposed forming a special foundation for controlling the populations of fish and other bioresources, Trend reports.

Eldar Ibragimov, the head of the Committee, reminded that amendments to the law on fishing will protect fish.

Five Caspian states formed a commission for the bio-resources of the Caspian Sea in 1992. The quota for fishing has not always been followed, causing reductions in the populations of certain fish.
