Russia recognizes Syrian presidential polls

 

Spokesman of the Russian Foreign Ministry Alexander Lukashevich said that Russia recognized the Syrian presidential polls as democratic and legitimate, ITAR-TASS reports.The diplomat noted that President Bashar al-Assad had made a decisive win at the elections, despite attempts of the opposition to ruin them. Lukashevich expressed regret that some international partners had a politicized reaction to the elections.
