US and EU ready to impose additional sanctions on Russia

The United States and its European allies are ready to impose serious sanctions against major sectors of the Russian economy, if the country refuses to recognize the new Ukrainian leadership and continues to support the rebel forces in Eastern Ukraine, British Foreign Minister David Cameron announced today.

If Moscow does not change its policy towards Ukraine, the sanctions may be imposed within a month, Ekho Moskvy cites the head of the British cabinet as saying.
