Georgian Foreign Ministry asks tourists to refrain from trips to Iraq

"It is known that since June 6, 2014 the situation in the northwest of the Iraqi province of Nineviya became extremely aggravated.As a result of long fighting the terrorist group "Islamic State of Iraq and Levent" (ISIL) took control of Mosul, the second-largest city in Iraq," Trend reports with reference to the department's statement.It is also noted that "the rebels are now moving towards the province of Salakh-Ad-Dean. A full evacuation of citizens has started."Iraqi prime minister Nuri Al-Maliki appealed to the parliament to declare a state of emergency and to distribute weapons to the population so it can cope with the insurgents.
