Irina Leparskaya: European Championship held in Baku is organized as Olympiad
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaThe chief coach of the Belarussian national rhythmic gymnastics team, Irina Leparskaya, told Vestnik Kavkaza about her impressions of the European Rhythmic Gymnastics Championship held in Baku.
According to her, the event is as well organized as an Olympic Games or even better. "There was no such hall at any Olympics, there were never so many people involved in the organization of the event, there was never such perfect order," she said.
"We can only envy and learn. The organization is fascinating and the most important thing is that everything was controlled by the government. No country can host such an event without state support. I am certain that the government supported these championships," Leparskaya said.
"I think it's great," she said.
The Belarusian coach also said that she was surprised how much Azerbaijan has changed since her last visit to the country. "I was here in 2009 and I believe that I came to a completely different country today. I believe that every year Azerbaijan changes for the better. I think the policy conducted by the government and the president is the right one," Irina Leparskaya said.
"I would be honoured to perform at such championships, if I were an Azerbaijani gymnast. Everything done here is right and it makes me happy," she concluded.
