World Cup 2014: Group E

VK continues to describe the teams of the World Cup in Brazil. This articles deals with group E with Ecuador, France, Switzerland and Honduras.

Switzerland

Switzerland is another dark horse of this cup. The Swiss can surprise both positively and negatively. Their luck sent them to a rather equal group every member of which can hope for the play-offs, maybe with the exception of Honduras. The strong point of the Swiss team is the coach. The German specialist Ottmar Hitzfeld has created a team that can fight anyone. Their composition is balanced, although it changed a lot in the last two years. Stephan Lichtsteiner and Ricardo Rodriguez make fast flanges. There is good choice in the middle - Shaqiri, Xhaka, Inler, Barnetta.  The attack has the young Josip Drmic, who can be one of the discoveries of the championships, as well as Mehmedi and Seferovic. The weakness of the side is the generally weak level of the players and the lack of experience because of the change of generations. Still, Switzeland can fight for the first line in the group and even go to the quarterfinals.

Ecuador

Ecuador is another contester of the ticket to the last 16. Among the strong points of Ecuador is the mood and devotion that should no doubt be very high. The Brazilian climate should be to the benefit of Ecuador and a problem for Switzerland and France. The composition of the team is even. The main star here is the midfielder of Manchester United Antonio Valencia. The attack can count on another Valencia - Enner. The team includes Noboa and Caicedo, who are familiar to the Russian audience. The weak side of Ecuador is the general level of the team, which is not so high for serious tasks. Although the wards of Reinaldo Rueda can count on getting out of the group, their further prospects are vague.
