Georgian citizen accused of attempting to hijack Kutaisi-Minsk flight

 

The investigative committee of Belarus is charging a citizen of Georgia in a criminal case into the attempted hijacking of a passenger liner on a June 10 flight between Kutaisi and Minsk."The actions of the defendant qualified according to p.1 Art. 14 (attempt at a crime) and ч.2 Art. 311 (stealing or capture for the purpose of aircraft hijacking) of the Criminal code of Belarus," ITAR-TASS quotes a statement by the Belarusian investigative committee.The department notes that niw measures "are being taken for full, comprehensive and objective clarification of all the circumstances of the committed crime."Forensic psychiatric and handwriting examinations have been ordered. The accused is in custody.
