Nato won't propose membership to Georgia in September, media say

The North Atlantic Alliance is not going to propose membership in the body to Georgia at the Nato summit in Newport, Wales, in September, Tiroler Tagzeitung cites DPA as saying.

According to the news agency, Nato diplomats believe Georgia should cooperate with the body more closely if it wants to sign the action plan necessary for all countries seeking membership in the alliance.

Nato member-states are expected to focus on deployment of additional forces in Eastern Europe in response to Russia's policy towards Ukraine.
