Al-Qaeda activists swear allegiance to Islamic State in Iraq and Levant

Activists of Jabhat al-Nusra, the Syrian branch of al-Qaeda, have sworn allegiance to the Islamic State in Iraq and Levant terrorist group, Agence France Presse cites the Syrian centre for monitoring human rights violations.

According to human rights advocates, this shows that the Islamic State in Iraq and Levant now controls the Iraqi-Syrian border.
