Georgian ex-military police chief detained in Netherlands
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaGeorgy Dgebuadze, an ex-head of the main directorate of the security and special missions department of the military police of the Joint Staff of the Georgian Armed Forces, has been detained in the Netherlands at the request of the Georgian Chief Prosecutor’s Office, says spokesman of the prosecutors Temur Dolidze, News Georgia reports.
The Chief Prosecutor’s Office brought charges against Dgebuadze on March 7, 2013, for abuse of authority, insulting executives, illegal detentions and torture. His executives Lasha Mindadze and Platon Sulukhia were allegedly ordered in January 2011 to gain information from Temur Amiranashvili, a standby officer for special operations of the Defense Ministry, about ties of high-ranking officials with Russia in social networks. Amiranashvili was illegally detained for four days, beaten and insulted.
