Mass redundancies await Azerbaijan Academy of Sciences

 

2,000-3,000 members of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS) may lose their jobs within the framework of the Concept for Development of the ANAS until 2020, APA reports.According to the concept, the redundant scientists may be replaced with foreign specialists, most likely of Azerbaijani origin. Contracts with new employees will be signed for five years. The Academy will favour higher-ranking scientists, taking into account their mobility, quality of work, young age and the competition.
