The Fund of Peace, an American organization, has published a Failed State Index. The countries with the highest ratings have the most alarming economic, social and political conditions.

Kazakhstan with 68.5 points, Russia with 76.5 points, Azerbaijan with 77.8 points, Armenia with 71.3 points, Turkey with 74.1 points, Turkmenistan with 78.2 points, Israel with 79.5 points, Georgia with 82.7 points and Iran with 87.2 points are among the alarming countries in the rating. Ukraine was given a better score, at 67.2 points.

A Professor of the Western University of Azerbaijan, Ikret Sadykhov, and Kazakh political analyst Eduard Poletaev said that they disagreed with the ratings.

Thus, Fikret Sadykhov said that the score given to Azerbaijan is the result of a very politicized approach and does not show the real economic situation in the country.

Eduard Poletaev noted that such ratings are often affected by stereotypes. "European countries in the majority of ratings will always be placed higher than countries in Central Asia, Africa and Latin America," he said.

The Director of Georgian Business Insight, economic expert Irakly Lekvinadze, noted that Georgia's position in the rating has also been based on politics. However, he believes that politics also matters, since it serves as an indicator of risks to investors.
