Free Tajik, Uzbek, Kazakh, Moldovan language classes open in Moscow

The School of Migrants’ Languages has opened at the Muzeon Park in Moscow, offering free classes for people willing to learn the Tajik, Uzbek, Kazakh and the Moldovan languages, CA-NEWS reports.The language lessons were initiated to help Moscow residents communicate with labour migrants. Classes will be organized once every week.The Tajik language is the most popular. 45-55 people want to study it. Director of the School Veronika Sergeyeva said that people in Moscow considered it “exotic.”Navruz Gulzoda, a teacher of the Tajik language from the Moscow State Linguistic University, is happy to see so many people willing to study, although he admits that such large group of students would be hard to teach.Lessons will end with an exam at the end of July.Sergeyeva added that many people wanted to study the languages of Armenia, Georgia, Ukraine and Baltic states.
