Astana Day marked in Kazakhstan

On July 5th Kazakhstan marks Astana Day, devoted to the country's capital city.

Astana has been the Kazakh capital since 1998. The corresponding decision was made by the Kazakh Supreme Council on July 6th 1994 and finalized by President Nursultan Nazarbayev in 1997.

A number of festive activities are being held in the city these days.
