Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said that realization of the national nuclear program required 190,000 centrifuges, RIA Novosti reports.

Earlier, Iran had insisted on the need for 50,000 centrifuges. It has a total of 19,000 centrifuges, with only 10,000 of them operating. The West demands that Iran run only a few thousand centrifuges. Iran expressed readiness to reduce the number of needed centrifuges. However, the West still insists on more guarantees of the peaceful nature of the nuclear program.
