Armenia boosts Meridian free economic zone construction

Gagik Gevorkyan, the head of the World Association of Armenian Jewelers, said that the company was investing $14 million for reconstruction of industrial buildings, infrastructure, inventory, beautification of the nearby territory, News.am reports.About 1,000-1,200 workplaces will open in the zone. Deals have already been signed with companies of Russia, U.S., Algeria, Jordan to exports products to the U.S., Russia, UAE, Israel, India, Czech Republic, Thailand, Hong Kong, Austria, Belgium and other countries. 12 other companies are negotiating deals.An exhibition center with an area of 10,000 square meters will open. The center will host the Yerevan-Show 2014 annual jewelry exhibition and the annual conference of the World Association of Armenian Jewelers in October 2014.
