Rezai named head of Iranian Border Guards

 

General Hasim Rezai has replaced Lieutenant-General Hossein Zulfugari as the head of the Iranian Border Guards. Zulfugari has become the deputy interior minister for security. Rezai was appointed last week, Iran.ru reports.The lieutenant-general was coordinating efforts to fight drug trafficking together with Azerbaijan.Rezai was heading the Border Guards until 2009.
