Russia and Italy ready to build South Stream

 

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said at a meeting with his Italian counterpart Federica Mogherini today that Russia and Italy were committed to realizing the South Stream project, RIA Novosti reports.The South Stream project involves construction of a gas pipeline under the Black Sea towards the Southern and Central Europe. Its construction started near Anapa on December 7, 2012. First gas will be available in late 2015. The pipeline will be launched at a full capacity of 63 billion cubic meters in late 2015.
