Karachay-Cherkessian police officers to pay 3 million rubles for taking bribe

The Zelenchuksky District Court of Karachay-Cherkessia sentenced a traffic police officer to 7 years and 6 months of jail (with 5-year probation) and another one to 7 years of jail (5-year probation), both fined with 3 million rubles, for taking a large bribe. They also paid a compensation 27,500 rubles each for property damage.


They stopped a driver in the Stavropolr Territory and demanded a bribe of 50,000 rubles in August 2012.


The sentence will be appealed at the Supreme Court of Karachay-Cherkessia.
