UN chief lauds Georgia's Shevardnadze

UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon has expressed his condolences over the recent death of former Soviet foreign minister and Georgian president Eduard Shevardnadze.

"The role Eduard Shevardnadze played in the history of the world is remarkable. He was a political leader who contributed much to the promotion of peace and security in Georgia and the whole world," Trend cites the UN chief as saying.
