Syrian President Assad to take oath

Syrian President Bashar al-Assad will take the oath of office in Damascus today. He was re-elected for his third 7-year term as president. The Syrian leader is expected to tell about his program, evaluate the situation in the country that has been suffering from a conflict for over 3 years, and outline the main trends of development, ITAR-TSS reports.

The president will form the main political and economic goals of his new presidential term. Detailed plans will be developed later.
