Georgia to implement EU Association Agreement in September

 

Georgian Foreign Minister Maya Panjikidze said that the EU Association Agreement that will be ratified tomorrow will be implemented in September 2014, RIA Novosti reports.80% of volume of the document will be implemented on September 1. This includes the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Agreement (DC FTA). Panjikidze will visit Brussels on Monday to attend a ministerial of the Eastern Partnership. Foreign ministers of 28 countries will partake in the meeting.The EU Association Agreement was signed with Georgia on June 27. It consists of political cooperation, cooperation in other sectors and the DC FTA. Georgia will lift tariff and non-tariff barriers and settle a wide range of trade issues.
