NATO wants the normalization of Armenian-Turkish relations, NATO's
Special Representative for the South Caucasus and Central Asia Robert
Simmons, RIA Novosti reports.


Simmons noted that NATO believes that Yerevan and Ankara should
determine the pace of the normalization process. He emphasized the
importance of Turkey participating in the 'Armenia-2010' drills.


10 Turkish specialists took part in the exercies. The head of the
Armenian Ministry of Emergencies Nikolay Grigoryan said that the Turks
arrived in Armenia from the Czech Republic and Georgia. The short-term
opening of the Turkish-Armenian border predicted by some experts and
media did not take place.
