Petrochemical facility to open in Iran’s Mazandaran Province

Infrastructure in the Mazandaran Province of Iran has been prepared for construction of a petrochemical complex, said Khushang Rashidi, the director of the northern directorate of the National Company for Pipelines and Communications, yesterday. Iranian Petroleum Minister Bijan Zanganeh approved the project, Iran.ru reports.A special oil free economic zone will be formed in the province. The Amirabad Port on the Caspian Sea and railway connections make it a suitable place for transportation of raw materials for the facility. It will produce propylene. The facility will need $1 billion of investments.
