UN urges Israel and Palestine to distinguish between peaceful citizens and combatants

UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Navi Pillay urged the sides of the conflict in the Gaza Strip to distinguish between civilians and combatants, ITAR-TASS reports.

Over 600 Palestinians, including 147 children and 74 women, have died in the Protective Edge Operation Israel that started against Hamas in the Gaza Strip on July 8. 74% of all Palestinians killed have been civilians.
