Russian and Azerbaijani coastguards to hold joint maritime drills in Caspian Sea

Azerbaijani coastal guard ship S001 is on its way to Port Makhachkala in Russia. The crew headed by Coastal Guard Chief Gajiali Gajiyev will take part in joint maritime drills with Russian border guards in the Caspian Sea on July 24, APA reports.

Two Brilliant-project ships and two military motorboats will escort S001.

Azerbaijan, Iran, Kazakhstan, Russia and Turkmenistan plan to sign an agreement on protection of sea bioresources in Astrakhan in September 2014.
