Turkey considers current summit of Turk countries defining moment
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaThe 10th summit of heads of Turk countries is defining because it will determine the establishment of the Council of Cooperation of Turk countries, TRT reports, citing the Turkish Minister of Foreign Affairs Ahmed Davutoglu.
At the summit on October 3, 2009, the sides agreed to establish the cooperation council. The headquarters of the council was decided to be in Istanbul and will be headed by Turkish Ambassador to Russia Halil Akyndji.
Davutoglu said that this year Turkmenistan was invited for the talks.
At Chiragan Palance in Istanbul Davutoglu said that they need stable neighbors and minimization of problems to build a strong democratic society. He noted that the USA should play an important role in global policy.
Davutoglu also talked about the Syrian-Israeli tensions, noting that Turkey will make all the possible efforts to resolve the conflict. He said that none of the countries of the region should have nuclear arms and noted the importance of settling Iranian nuclear program.
