Israel and Hamas declare temporary ceasefire

Israel and Hamas have declared a 12-hour long ceasefire. The idea has been suggested by Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, US diplomats are quoted as saying in Cairo.

The decision came into effect at 9 am on Saturday.
