500kg of opium found in Iran’s Razavi Khorasan Province

The Iranian police confiscated about 530kg of opium on the road between Baft and Sirjan in the Razavi Khorasan Province. Drivers of two cars with the drugs were arrested, Trend reports.The region between Afghanistan and Pakistan is one of the largest free trade zones in the world for dealing weapons and narcotics and illegal migration. The Iranian-Afghan border is 900km long, about 74% of opium is smuggled there. About 500 tons of narcotics were confiscated in the country in the Iranian calendar year.
