Russia has not annexed Crimea, Putin says

Russia has not annexed Crimea, Russian President Vladimir Putin said today. The region has joined the Russian Federation in accordance with the will of its people, Putin stressed. 

"There has been no annexation. It was the will of the people," the Russian president is quoted as saying by RIA Novosti.
