1.47 million square meters of illegal fishing nets confiscated in Azerbaijan

 

Elchin Guliyev, the head of the Azerbaijani State Border Service, said that 1.47 million square meters of illegal fishing nets, 293,000 forbidden fishing hooks had been confiscated in the Caspian Sea in January-June 2014, Trend reports.He noted that regular monitoring of maritime boundaries was more efficient in fighting poachers. Guliyev added that control over registering ships was improved.
