The Warsaw prosecution department has requested a court to arrest
temporarily Akhmed Zakayev, who has arrived in Poland to participate
in the so-called International Chechen Congress, reports RIA Novosti.
Russia earlier placed Zakayev on the international wanted list, due to
his connection with terrorists. Polish Premier Donald Tusk claimed
that the Polish prosecutors will take a decision in accordance with
Polish state interests. Moscow has been requesting Zakayev's
extradition since 2003 from London, where he has claimed political
asylum.
