Azerbaijan’s Shamkir District to double vineyard area

The Shamkir District of Azerbaijan plans to expand vineyards to a total of 1500 hectares in 2020, according to Parviz Tagizadeh, deputy head of the district administration, Interfax-Azerbaijan reports.The district collected 80 centners per hectare (526 hectares in total) in 2014. 22,000 tons of grape were collected on over 500 hectares of vineyards.
