SOCAR to explore depths of Russia The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR/SOCAR) has all the necessary technology to work with the oil deposits in the Astrakhan region, the head of the Baku Oil Research Center, Ilham Shaban said in an interview with VK commenting on the preparations made by a subsidiary company of SOCAR, SOCAR Rus to research hydrocarbon deposits in the Narimanov district of the region. Earlier, the Minister of Industry, Transport and Natural Resources of the Astrakhan region, Sergey Krzhanovsky said that SOCAR Rus will search for oil and gas at the North-Beshkulsky field.Shaban said that the North Beshkulsky field was chosen by SOCAR because it did not require any capital investment. SOCAR, the expert said, has all the resources to develop the field.
