Monument to Rasul Gamzatov opens in Turkey A monument to Rasul Gamzatov, a famous poet, was opened in the Turkish town of Yalov, a sister city of Makhachkala. The event was attended by the mayor of the town, Vefa Salman, the mayor of Khasavyurt, Saigidpasha Umahanov, the daughter of the poet, Salikhat Gamzatova and representatives of the Russian Consulate in Istanbul as well as guests of the 9th International festival of dance and music of the peoples of the Caucasus, MK reports.This is the first monument to Rasul Gamzatov outside of Russia.
