Caucasian Games begin in Chechnya

 

Caucasus Games begin in Chechnya  A cultural festival, "Caucasian Games" opened today in Chechnya. Prime Minister for the North Caucasus Lev Kuznetsov, Russian presidential envoy to the North Caucasus Federal District Sergei Melikov, as well as heads of subjects of North Caucasian Federal District came to Chechnya to take part in the festival. Pavilions representing the culture of the republics of the North Caucasus Federal District were installed on Grozny's central square next to the Heart of Chechnya mosque. About 700 people are expected to take part in sports competition. Six delegations from different regions of the North Caucasus will take part in the festival: the Stavropol Territory, Ingushetia, Dagestan, North Ossetia, Karachai-Cherkessia and Kabardino-Balkaria.The festival was established in 2010 by the government of Russia. It was held for the first in Karachay-Cherkessia.
