Russian Federation fights corruption in sports

 

Today the government of the Russian Federation supported the convention of the Council of Europe against manipulation of sports competitions. Soon the document will be submitted to the head of state Vladimir Putin for his signature, this information is on the official site of the government.The draft of the convention was approved at a meeting of the Council of Ministers of the Council of Europe on June 9, 2014, the Sovetsky Sport newspaper reports.The convention's purpose is to counteract corruption in sport by improving state regulation of the activities of sports and bookmaker organizations.
