Counter-terrorism operation regime causes transportation problems in Dagestan

The Gimrinsky Tunnel (Russia's largest tunnel), connecting nine districts with Makhachkala and the rail network, has been closed for five days within the framework of the counter-terrorism operation regime in the Buynaksky and the Untsukulsky districts of Dagestan, Interfax reports.

The journey to Makhachkala may take 2-5 hours longer than usual for highland villagers as a result.
