EU has not divested Russia of hosting 2018 FIFA World Cup

The European Union cannot divest Russia of the right to host the 2018 FIFA World Cup. European External Action Service reminded that the host of the World Cup was chosen by the FIFA Executive Committee in 2010, not the EU, ITAR-TASS reports.

European functionaries consider cancelling the 2018 FIFA World Cup, the 2016 IIHF World Championship and the 2015 F-1 Grand Prix in Russia.
