Muslims want peace and stability in Russia

Hajimurat Gatsalov, the mufti of North Ossetia, told Vestnik Kavkaza at the 6th Majlis of the Muslim Directorate of the European Part of Russia that Muslims wanted peace and stability in Russia. In his words, the resolution on Ukraine passed at the Majlis was an expression of the solidarity of Russian society in the context of foreign threats.

The mufti noted that North Ossetia had accommodated Ukrainian refugees. He reminded that North Ossetians from other countries settled in North Ossetia after the fall of the USSR. Then a war happened, then Georgian sabotage, recalls Gatsaalov. According to the mufti, the number of refugees had reached 100,000 people at one point.

He added that the republic did its best to give them refuge. The Muslim community bought them refrigerators, food and living essentials.
