Russia to spend 19 trillion rubles on rearmament

Russian Defense Minister Anatoliy Serdyukov said that Russia will
spend 19 trillion rubles on new arms and technology for the Russian
army in the next 10 years, Bloomberg reports.

Serdyukov said that part of the technology will be purchased in the
USA. He also said in an interview with the agency that the Russian
government has prepared a proposal to increase the budget of the
Defense Ministry for 2011-2020 by 46%.
