Chechen parliament passes laws

On Thursday, the Chechen parliament passed several laws in their first
reading, the main ones being the bills “On changing the law of
Chechnya”, “On protection of the population and territory of the
Chechen Republic from emergency situations of a natural and
technological character”, “On the formation of the emergency and
rescue services of the Chechen Republic” and “On government support
for cargo deliveries using vehicle transport”, Grozny Inform reports.
According to a Chechen parliamentarian, Maliki Etieva, the changes are
a result of the necessity of bringing the laws into line with federal
legislation.


Later, the law “On making changes to article 15 of the Law of the
Chechen Republic regarding funerals in the Chechen Republic” was
passed.


According to the head of regulations, international and
interconfessional relations, external relations and information policy
of the Chechen Republic, Hussein Yahihanov, the changes were necessary
in order to bring the republic's laws in line with federal
legislation.


The parliament later supported a raft of legislative initiatives.
