Reconstruction of Fisht Stadium will begin next year

 

The planned reconstruction of the Fisht Stadium in Sochi, in order for it to host matches in the 2018 FIFA World Cup, will begin no later than January-February of next year and will be completed by the end of 2016.Earlier, the minister of sport of the Russian Federation and the head of the WC-2018 organizing committee, Vitaly Mutko, noted a risk that the stadium would fail to be in a condition of readiness for the 2017 Confederation Cup because of a delay in the start of reconstruction.The right to plan the project and reconstruct the facility in the middle of September was received by the company SMU "Krasnodar". The leadership of Krasnodar Krai estimates the cost of future reconstruction to be from 3 to 4 billion rubles.
